Just a little saturday drive with my daughter. Showing why diff locks are great!

For a sense of scale, these bumps were about 50% deeper than when I tried going down only with my forester in this video. Love them solid axles.

taking something beyond where its meant to be is always just a little more interesting, plus I adore subys, I enjoyed the second vid better

I generally agree with you wholeheartedly, which is why the subi got a lot of off road action, but even going down those smaller bumps, in the dry, was a big challenge for it. I always hated the fragile feeling I got taking it off road, and never enjoyed it as much as i did in my old rav4 (gen1) which did so much better.

I have only owned subys is generally crappy condition, my fear of taking them offroad or doing other silly activities with them is substantially reduced by their general crapiness. What's gonna happen? a NEW scratch? OH NOES

The wife has an '05 Rav4, the BEEP BEEP BEEP of the traction control (with no off button) simply alerts the wife that I may be having fun in the snow :( must remember to hide the grin when "accidentally" sliding in the snow

Awesome! How's the LC running these days?

my 1996 had no TC and a center diff lock, torsen rear LSD and a manual. It was FUN in the snow and suprisingly capable off road. I took it on some class 2+ off road trails and it never got stuck. Its nothing compared to the cruiser...but for what it was it was amazing. The gen1 really was my favorite car to date.

more or less good. The stalling problem is intermittent and related (I think) to either a bad in tank fuel filter (replacing soon), fuel pump relay (spare on hand) or fuel pump (need to perform tests...same time as fuel filter replacement) other than that and a little exhaust leak I need to fix....running like a champ.

hey, if you need any parts for yours, there is a guy here parting out a totaled 97. he has EVERYTHING. including a fully top end rebuilt 1fz-fe for cheap. I bought some relays from him and my uncle bought his 35 inch tires. but he has interior bits and everything down to spare windows. Let me know.

Awesome. I will keep that in mind. Luckily, mine has been running like a camp. *knocks on wood*

if it weren't for the fuel economy, my brief push to make an original rav4 my winter car may have succeeded. Although for the wife getting over the boxy appearance was a big hurdle. Impreza was the outcome
